The Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) invites applications for the full-time position of IT Security Engineer, position #122740. FLVC is looking for a creative and talented security professional to join our growing Information and Systems Security team. This position is responsible for the design and implementation of technical solutions that protect networked information infrastructure, data and personal information, other digital assets, and electronic communications from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. This position also assists in developing organizational IT security standards and procedures; monitoring emerging and prevalent threats and developing mitigation plans to protect against them; and assisting system administrators and software developers with security issues and practices.
FLVC is a statewide provider of innovative educational services for Florida's K-20 community. Working collaboratively with the state's public universities and colleges, K-12 school districts, and other partners, FLVC delivers services to help empower all of Florida's residents to earn a college degree and find a bright career.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Current certification at GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) or equivalent cybersecurity professional certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Information security experience in higher education or state/local government; experience performing information security audits and risk assessments; experience with vulnerability testing tools, preferably Nessus; experience with SIEM tools, preferably Logrhythm; experience securing Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux.
Salary: $90,000 annually
Location: This position will be located in Gainesville, FL.
