Supports quality initiatives by facilitating data collections, providing and analyzing data, and trending utilizing the various clinical information systems. Collaborating with clinical managers, directors and physicians to ensure the accurate and timely use of data available within the system. Facilitates quality initiatives and change management.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience may be considered Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other clinical discipline, preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
Knowledge of medical terminology and disease process
Experience using databases and spreadsheets
Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate teams
Demonstrates exceptional analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to navigate electronic health records
Five (5) years of clinical experience, preferred
Three (3) years of experience working with quality indicators or benchmarks, preferred
Experience with facilitation and process improvement, preferred
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, preferred
Experience in project management, preferred
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
Designs, analyzes, interprets and coordinates studies for medical staff and service areas. *
Performs chart review and data abstraction for compliance with core measure and patient safety indicators. *
Analyzes statistical data, guides appropriate review methodology and utilizes appropriate reporting tools in the evaluation of organization performance. Creates graphical displays of data utilizing Microsoft Office Excel and other similar tools/software. Ensures data is valid and reliable; implements methods to ensure validity. *
Assists in identifying best practices for transfer across the organization and facilitates the redefinition of practice parameters to improve quality and reduce costs. *
Manages multiple databases while working with Decision Support to maintain the integrity of data sources. *
Partners with physicians, clinical service directors and medical directors to evaluate performance of clinical processes and outcomes, utilization of resources, financial impact, risk management and customer satisfaction. *
Facilitates the integration of consistent CQI processes into all planning and problem solving throughout the organization and by promoting organization learning and systems thinking. *
Assists with pursuit of disease specific accreditation of clinical programs through Joint Commission or other regulatory agencies. *
Facilitates and leads initiatives for improvement and change. *
Assists Quality Director in presenting quality information to audiences including, but not limited to medical staff, hospital staff, provider sources, administration and the community board. *
Serves as an educator and internal consultant regarding measurement tools, data sources, and the development of QI programs. *
