Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology offers dozens of imaging exams and radiologic procedures. The Content Strategist/Writer is responsible for the creation of all digital content for Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR). This position has ownership of and accountability for content, ranging from social and website content, to blog and email lead generation content. Daily work includes writing, reviewing, proofing, editing, and publishing content that aligns with MIR’s overarching marketing strategy and makes business sense for the brand.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and write relevant, engaging marketing content that meets the needs of both internal stakeholders and target audiences. Content forms may include but are not limited to:
Organic social media copy (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube)
Email newsletters and campaigns
Conversion-oriented landing page copy
Digital ad copy
Print materials, including magazines and sales collateral
Use metrics and analytics to help determine and drive content strategy, conduct keyword and SEO research to understand target audience needs, and monitor web traffic and engagement. Use data and research to evaluate content’s effectiveness and quantify business outcomes.
Develop calendar representing all content across digital channels to effectively manage and oversee the content brand story.
Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers and videographers to create visuals.
Document or update process and protocols for content development and content strategy as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field
Extensive familiarity with social media platforms, social media management/analytics software and emerging technologies, including mobile, and email marketing and networking tools
Three to five years of professional experience with copywriting/content development and editing content for digital communications
Prior experience in a marketing environment dedicated to academic medicine or healthcare
Proven experience developing and driving successful digital content strategy
Mastery of best practices of writing, editing and optimizing target audience-focused content
Hands-on familiarity with the digital marketing landscape, including web development, search marketing, digital graphic design, copywriting, content development, conversion-oriented landing page design or web analytics
Ability to prioritize and self-manage multiple projects simultaneously
Superb initiative and drive; meticulous attention to detail
Working knowledge of content management systems, like WordPress
Experience using digital analytics and measurement to inform decision making
Familiarity with tools for tracking, scheduling and monitoring social media initiatives
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
Ability to work well independently and with others in a team-based environment
Ability to work well with faculty, staff, students and administrators
A strong portfolio that demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in writing and organizing content for digital platforms
Knowledge of AP style preferred
The hiring range for this position is $47,029 - $59,987 annually.
