The Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences at Gannon University seeks an Assistant Professor in the Physician Assistant Department. The appointment for this 12-month, tenure-track position begins July 2018 or upon hire. The successful candidate will teach 24 credits in the academic year and work closely with the department chairperson to perform necessary operations for the optimal function of the program. The operations will include involvement in the development of clinical rotations, program curriculum and assessments, program accreditation, and preparing motivated students intellectually, professionally, and personally.
Qualified candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship as is appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure and promotion at Gannon. Requirements include a Master’s of Science degree (doctorate is preferred), current NCCPA certification (if applicable), and appropriate clinical experience; candidates are required to have or be eligible for PA, MD, or DO licensure in Pennsylvania. A minimum of two years’ prior teaching and research experience are preferred. Clinical and teaching experience in general medicine including family medicine, internal medicine, or emergency medicine is preferred. Ideally, candidates will also have experience using course management systems for purposes of instruction and advising. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
