Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate I for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the New Jersey Medical School. Under direction, The Research Associate I, is responsible for the conduct of high quality research in conjunction with faculty in the field of Emergency Medicine.
Designs and conducts highly specialized and technical research.
Participates in the development and refining of research protocols using appropriate methodology in conjunction with faculty, residents and students.
Participates in the development of research ideas and translates them into executable research protocols.
Identifies funding opportunities, helps faculty through grant applications and develops a robust grant portfolio for the department.
Initiates and champions the IRB application and approval process.
Participates in the preparation of presentations (poster preparation/slides) of completed research at various forums.
Participates in the gathering of data, analysis and interpretation related to quality initiatives of the department.
Minimum Education and Experience:
PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate must be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with departments faculty, students and residents.
Sound knowledge of the IRB process, research methodology, statistical analysis and data interpretation.
Proficiency with computer skills, literature searches and use of statistical software such as SPSS, SAS.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.
