Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
A leadership position responsible for operational management of the laboratory. Responsible for direct leadership of department associates. Performs testing within the analytical laboratory. Provides a high level of technical knowledge and application of that knowledge to department testing and clinical relevance. Functions in a self- directed manner and exhibits advanced problem-solving skills.
Minimum Education Requirements
Associate's degree in biology, laboratory science or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in biology, laboratory science or equivalent preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirements
3 years CT, HT, or HLT working experience in the clinical laboratory
HT with ASCP certification, or HLT with ASCP certification, or CT with ASCP certification, or equivalent certification.

Ensures that proficiency testing is completed and submitted. Coordinates and completes proficiency testing investigation follow up.*
Reviews various laboratory reports including QM reports and others asassigned.*
Monitors quality metrics and processes to meet goals. Facilitates investigation, follow up and retraining with associates as needed.*
Maintains a safe and clean working environment.*
Follows laboratory, hospital, and regulatory agencies policies, procedures, and guidelines.*
Performs all levels of testing within the cytology discipline with a high level of competency.*
Performs job duties in an efficient and organized manner within required timeframe.*

Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of significant results.*

Compiles and reviews LIS reports to ensure all samples are collected and processed in appropriate timeframe.*
Participates in shift to shift communication to ensure continuity of laboratory operations and patient care.*
Responsible for instrument/equipment operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and appropriate documentation of activities.*
Participates in detecting and documenting occurrences that deviate from definedprocedures.*
Acts as a steward of finances through appropriate uses of supplies, materials, and productive activities.*
Recognizes and provides input for opportunities to improve supply management, lab workflow, and cost containment.*
Responsible for meeting and maintaining targeted productivitystandards.*
Provides assistance in monitoring financial activities and budgetdevelopment.*
Serves as a liaison with other laboratory departments and hospital services.*
Responds to customer inquiries for laboratory results, status of patient testing, test requirements, and other laboratory information.*
