Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.
The mission of Real Estate Development and Facilities (RED+F) Department is to plan, develop, operate and maintain NYU Langone Health System campus and facilities, and provide the foundation for its growth and success in the 21st century. RED+F provides strategic campus planning and project development services, including architectural studies, programming, design, construction and associated infrastructure and technological upgrades, for new structures and renovations. The Department also operates and manages all facilities, infrastructure and related support services across the medical center. RED+F is composed of the Real Estate, Housing, Planning & Project Development, Facilities Operations & Management, Finance & Administration, Campus Security, Environmental Services, Environmental Health & Safety, Radiation Safety and Clinical Engineering divisions. Position Summary: In this role, the intern will help the Construction Management team with the preparation of documents related to the management of active construction/design projects, observe drawing submission and approvals, and participate in daily operations and various work processes. This opportunity will provide exposure to a variety of stages in the construction management process.
Participate in weekly meetings on current projects
Participate in creating overall project schedule and oversees timely execution
Assist with management of day to day operational aspects of design and/or construction projects with Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
Review bid documentation, ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Assist in reviewing architectural drawings
Assist with creating reports and presentations
Take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items
Minimum Qualifications: Ideal candidate will be in High School or accredited College Interest in Construction Management, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail as well as the ability to work well under pressure. A strong passion for Real Estate Development.
