Practice Manager Sports Concussion Program –FH Sports Concussion – Orlando
Florida Hospital seeks to hire a Practice Manager Sports Concussion Program who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Under the general direction of the Senior Director, the Practice Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Florida Hospital, Florida Hospital Medical Group (FH FHMG) Sports Concussion Program. Provides leadership, direction, administration and coordination of all practice activities and works with the Clinical Advisory Committee on those activities that directly involves professional medical judgment. Responsible for fiscal management of the practice. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Ability to manage staff and operations to ensure delivery of optimal patient care.
Ability to organize, communicate and implement departmental goals and program
objectives within the perspective of Florida Hospital's mission and values
Proficiency in the use of Electronic Medical Records Software
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Competency of Athletic Training (ATC) theory, principles and applications
Multi-tasking ability (Preferred)
Organizational skills (Preferred)
Customer service and communication skills (Preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training
Minimum two years' supervisory experience required in healthcare operations managing clinical/ non-clinical staff.
Minimum one year outpatient experience in a physician's office, emergency/hospital department or outpatient clinic.
5 years' health care or athletic training experience (Preferred)
Masters' degree in Business (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA) (Preferred)
Four years' Supervisory/administrative experience (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current valid license in the State of Florida as a Certified Athletic Trainer
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Administers practice and organizational policies and procedures as directed in a consistent and timely manner. Coordinates/ Evaluates daily operations of the assigned practice including clerical, clinical, specific functions and activities including information systems, accounting, human resources, payroll, material management engineering and other support services. Maintains practice during periods of staff absence, including the use/scheduling of the clerical/clinical floats that may be available. Screens, interviews and hires qualified applicants for open positions.
Acts as a liaison between Florida Hospital (FH), Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG), Florida Hospital Rehab and Sports Medicine (FHRSM) and other hospital staff, physicians, patients, patient families, and community/partners to investigate, respond and to resolve complaints. Assist with the development, distribution and communication of key information as directed by hospital administration.
Monitors staff and equipment needs, revenue, and expenses. Stays within allocated budget, appropriately manages and reports timely via budget spreadsheet. Maintains a clean and professional work atmosphere in accordance with the professionalism/environmental policy. Maintains and updates patient and practice information brochures and works with marketing representative, as appropriate
Systematically provides staff with feedback regarding their performance, counsels staff as needed, documents counseling sessions, and monitors compliance. Completes staff performance appraisals within established time frame.
Implements and assists in the orientation of new staff to familiarize them with processes, equipment, safety and mission. Facilitates the professional development of staff, employee engagement, and customer and patient satisfaction. Accepts responsibility for maintaining and updating knowledge of all new and existing policies and procedures and educates staff. Establishes training and development programs to support staff and arranges opportunities for education.
Assures compliance with local, state, federal rules and regulations and accrediting bodies. In addition, participates actively in safety, infection control and quality assurance efforts.
Works proactively and independently showing initiative and problem-solving skills consulting with administration seeking advice when appropriate for situations outside authority or expertise. Provides timely reports to Administration when requested.
