Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) is accepting applications for a pharmacy supervisor for oncology services.
Responsibilities: The Pharmacy supervisor will provide oversight of oncology services in the Outpatient Oncology Infusion Satellite and over Inpatient Oncology Services. This individual will be part of a dedicated team of pharmacists, nurses, and physicians as part of the Medical and Surgical Oncology treatment team in Parkview Cancer Institute located on the campus of PRMC. The Oncology team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, patient care nurses, research nurses, medical assistants, dietary, medication assistance coordinator, and care navigators. The pharmacist will focus on best practices and medication safety for our oncology patient population. Supervisory responsibilities include coworker engagement, annual evaluations, and corrective action. With pharmacist coworkers providing patient care in both inpatient, outpatient infusion, and outpatient clinic settings, Parkview is creating a seamless inpatient to outpatient transition. The Medical Oncology Physician Group cares for a variety of oncology diagnoses and is part of numerous research protocols. Clinical protocols include both industry and cooperative studies and will allow exposure to state of the art studies and new drugs in development. The supervisor will collaborate with the Investigational Drug Service (IDS) pharmacist and IDS technician to optimize care for clinical trial patients. The Surgical Oncology Physician Group manages surgical oncology needs of patients using innovation and technology to provide advanced practice medicine. The team is collaborative and is looking for an additional pharmacist to enhance the patient experience.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution and have experience providing oncology care. Leadership experience is highly preferred. Pharmacy licensure, or eligibility, in Indiana is required. Candidates must have a high level of oncology practice skills, enthusiasm for patient care, and the interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with health professionals, patients, and students. Board Certification in Oncology Practice preferred. BCOP required within 12 months of hire or once qualifications are met.
