Counselors will be working with youth directly in this residential program. They are responsible for planning, leading and implementing programs and experiences at the Pinckney 4-H Leadership Program. JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Program Management - Assists in planning and teaching all components of the program and areas assigned. Assists and leads participants in evening activities and special events. Needs to be flexible to adjust to changes as needed. Promote a sense of community by exemplifying cooperation, respect and responsibility.
35% - Essential - Supervision - Counselors are responsible for the supervision and safety of all participants in their care. Leads participants to and from programs areas and activities. Identifies and responds to participant behavior issues. Be fair and consistent enforcing program rules. Counselors are expected to serve as leaders and positive role models. Communicates with parents about participants experiences and report any concerns to the program leadership.
15% - Essential - Safety - Understands and knows emergency procedures associated with the program. Is responsible for participant safety and their whereabouts at all times. Maintains accurate program records including incident reports, medication log book and attendance records.
15% - Essential - Equipment Management - Sets up, maintains and breaks down the site and program areas. Returns all equipment used to storage area in good working order. Reports any equipment failures or replacement needs. Assists with routine cleanup of facilities and rooms used. All other duties assigned by the Director. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
