We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Portfolio/PMO Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate This program manager is responsible for the management and oversight of one or more MCIT mission project portfolios inclusive of complex IT projects, programs, PMO staff and governance of PMO standards. This is a management role with direct supervision of a staff 4-8 people.
Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work within a portfolio.
Build and manage relations between IT and business areas for the delivery of technology solutions in the assigned portfolios.
Analyze and manage risks and interdependencies within and across projects and formulate plausible solutions/contingency plans in consultation with stakeholders.
Identify, resolve and/or escalate roadblocks, issues, and conflicts.
Coach, mentor, motivate, supervise and influence PMO staff to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Maintain a portfolio level budget through cost management, vendor management and efficient resource utilization.
Direct and mentor team of project management professionals
Ensure project management staff is tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the stakeholder.
Coordinate with various groups to help expose critical project information through several mechanisms such as project websites, dashboards, and collaborative work books.
Responsible for team work assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews and escalating issues appropriately.
Contribute to the establishment of a common set of PMO practices, tools and templates for portfolio, program and project level management and ensures standards are being followed.
Share best practices and lessons learned with the PMO organization.
Develop resourcing strategies, and allocates staff and support as necessary.
Drive change management efforts to increase acceptance of initiatives and technology delivery success.
Partner with other leaders to foster a workplace culture of transparency and effective execution.
Functions independently with limited work direction.
To qualify you must have a four (4) year Bachelor's degree , Masters Degree preferred (MBA or related degree) 3 - 5 years of experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting 5 years of IT leadership experience and developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios in a clinical or hospital PMO 5 years of Experience in personnel management (direct reports) Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Project and Industry Leading PPM tool (i.e. Clarity PPM, Microsoft PPM) PMP certification (PgMP a plus)
Healthcare industry experience.
