The Director of Human Resources provides operational leadership in the organization's approach to talent acquisition, management, development, and engagement by enabling leaders to create a competitive advantage through engagement and the application of intellect and innovation in our system in order to achieve our strategic goals. THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED OUT OF ST. ANTHONY SUMMIT MEDICAL CENTER AND PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THE MOUNTAIN TIER HOSPITALS and CLINICS (St. Vincent's, Middle Park Medical Center, etc.)
Oversees HR functional areas of employment, compensation, employee relations, and leadership development. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulatory agencies. Advises leadership and other customers on administration of policies and programs related to HR services. Administers policies and programs with HR staff. Manages department for quality and efficiency. Facilitates partnerships for continued healthcare growth and competencies. Maintains complete and accurate records.
Acts as an operational partner in the development of strategies that will ensure hiring and retaining the highest quality talent and appropriate talent management processes.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management, business, education or related field
work experience requirements
5 years of progressive responsibility in Human Resources management
Proven skills in employee and labor relations and demonstrates leadership skills in an HR environment.
Knowledge of governmental regulations and legal compliance regarding employment and benefits.
Knowledge of and experience in the development and implementation of talent acquisition and management preferred.
Experience working with Unions preferred
Baseline knowledge of healthcare recruitment and compensation issues.
Knowledgeable in JCAHO and HIPAA requirements, budget process and developing and implementation training programs as it relates to Human Resources.
PHR/SPHR (HRCI), Human Capital Strategist (HCI), or similar related accredited Human Resources/Talent Management certifications preferred
Position duties (essential functions)
Provides human resources expertise and/or counsel in many day-to-day employee/management-related functions to include interviewing and hiring, evaluating and improving employee performance, orientating new employees and other applicable persons, in-servicing, counseling, disciplining, terminating employees, recommending and approving pay increases, employee status changes, grievances and compliance processing.
Develops and implements appropriate action plans and strategies, identifies and responds to market trends to meet the changing needs of the organization and customers.
Experience and understanding in the areas of talent acquisition, talent management, learning, leadership development, organizational development and employee engagement
Supports the organizations' mission and vision
Develops departmental goals and sets priorities. Plans, directs and monitors the functions of the department.
Supervises department personnel by providing performance evaluations, counseling, coaching and when necessary, disciplinary actions.
Reviews/revises policies, procedures, plans and job descriptions annually.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities within the department and organization.
Utilizes 'Value Analysis' decision making, dealing with people with diplomacy and sensitivity.
Assures proper student placement, reviewing objectives and matching with appropriate experiences.
Maintains and promotes open communication, both written and verbal, with all members of the healthcare team and the community.
Demonstrates a commitment to individual, staff, departmental and institutional growth and development.
Actively participates in hospital and medical staff committees.
Responsible for providing human resources expertise or support for compliance or regulatory, licensing bodies, and governmental codes and laws, including JCAHO, OIG standards, city, county, state and federal agencies, including those pertaining to preventing patient and/or employee discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, handicap, age, fraud and abuse.
