Summary: Provides nursing care to client employees and/or contractors and visitors to the health center.
Performs day-to-day clinical and operational activities that support worksite occupational health and wellness program for client.
Provides clinical care to employees that align with scope of practice as defined by state law, company policies, clinical protocols, and ethical standards. Clinical duties include but are not limited to worksite injury/illness triage, physical assessment, recording vitals, first aid treatment, vision testing, spirometry, respirator fit testing, appropriate referrals to Medical Center Physician and/or Licensed Practitioner, medication administration and medical treatment (as directed by a Physician), and coordination with specialists.
Uses nursing skills to evaluate patient care needs, prioritize treatment, and maintain patient flow.
Manages site Workers Compensation Program including providing case management for employee work-related injuries and/or illnesses.
Coordinates site disability programs including providing clinical oversight and case management of site's non-occupational disability benefit programs.
Documents accurately all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, discharge instructions provided, case management activities, follow-up care arranged, and medical reports. Maintains medical records by using electronic medical record system(s).
Collaborates effectively with Client's Human Resources Department, Client's Safety Department, Client's Supervisory Team, Medical Center Team, and employees.
Coordinates and manages pre-placement, OSHA mandated and non-mandated surveillance programs such as drug screening, Hazmat, and respiratory protection.
Performs occupational and health screening tests (e.g., EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
Coordinates and delivers health education training and seminars in collaboration with Safety and the Wellness Center Manager. Acts as a site Wellness Champion and supports wellness program initiatives. Participates in ergonomic initiatives.
Identifies emergency situations and provides care within legal scope of practice.
Provides clinical oversight and support for site's first response team. Collaboratively facilitates trainings.
Maintains a clean and safe environment. Follows infection control procedures.
Conducts appropriate laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
Maintains patient privacy and confidential patient information.
Refers employees who need the attention of a primary care physician to the Medical Center. Evaluates health education/promotion needs of patients and provides recommendations and necessary training and instruction.
Supports clinic operations as needed. This includes clinical assistance, instrument sterilization, examination room preparations, filing, medical record retrieval, stocking, equipment care, and telephone coverage.

Occupational health experience is highly preferred
Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associates'degree (A.S.) is required.
Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
At least three years experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic or other ambulatory care clinic
Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
Knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Certification in Emergency Nursing, or Certificate in Case Management
Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations
