Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Oncology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. The Haworth Innovative Therapeutics Clinic is a leading pediatric research program with a special focus on neuroblastoma and brain tumors offering Phase I and II and Precision Medicine clinical trials through Beat Childhood Cancer and Headstart consortiums as well as COG standard phase trials. Patients and their families travel from around the globe to take part in clinical trials offered by this program for a chance to improve the outcome for their child. The new provider will be a collaborative professional who is passionate about improving the outcomes of children with neuroblastoma, brain tumors and sarcoma’s. An understanding of clinical trials and the ability to care for, communicate, and coordinate care for children coming from other countries, states, and regions will be key to the success of the candidate.

Annually, there are 8760 inpatient and 124,600 ambulatory visits, as well as over 55,185 children seen in the Pediatric Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma rated). HDVCH also has one of the nation’s largest NICU’s (108-beds).

Experience writing chemo therapy orders for pediatric patients
Experience working in Phase I and Phase II Clinical Trials or COG standard phase trials
Active Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Michigan upon hire
Comfortable working independently with pediatric cancer patients
Willing to collaborate and work as a team member with multiple patients, responsibilities, and clinical organizations
Meticulous attention to detail
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
