Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) PRN
Tuesday, May 29, 2018
Location: 2525 West End Avenue, 5 th Floor
Join us for the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) Career Event to meet with recruiters and hiring leaders to learn more about the exciting and expanding LPN PRN opportunities with our area walk-in clinics!
The walk-in clinics at VUMC are rapidly growing, as is the need for PRN staff to help cover vacations, illness, and high patient volume. With summer rapidly approaching, this need is particularly vital!
Our building is easy to find. We are the high-rise building at the corner of West End and 25 th Avenue. There are a number of recognizable businesses on the ground floor, including P.F. Changes and Barnes and Noble. Parking is available for this event in the parking garage behind the building (accessible on the west side of the building); we will validate your parking access ticket on the day of the event. Once parked, please enter along the side of the building between P.F. Chang's and the Marriott Hotel, and take the elevator to the 5 th floor. If a member of our team is not there to greet you as you exit the elevator, you may see the receptionist.
Vanderbilt's Walk-In Clinics are currently located throughout the Nashville metro area, and we have PRN needs in Bellevue, Belle Meade, Brentwood, Franklin, Cool Springs, Spring Hill, and Nolensville! These clinics provide high-quality health care services in a location convenient for many. A board-certified Vanderbilt physician and nurse practitioners are always on site, and no appointments are necessary. We offer advanced services such as EKG, lab and X-rays, with immediate results. The Vanderbilt Walk-In Clinic saves patients' time and possibly a trip to the Emergency Room by taking care of common illnesses and minor injuries, including allergies, infections, sore throats and stomach bugs. Screening, testing and preventative services available include breathing treatments, drug screenings, pregnancy testing, TB skin testing, and vaccinations. Physicals needed for adoptions, camps, or sports, the Department of Transportation and pre-employment are also offered.
In your role as an LPN in the Vanderbilt Walk-In Clinics, you will work alongside the providers including physicians and nurse practitioners. You will greet and room patients, answer messages, refill scripts, draw blood, take vital signs, read EKG's, and generally support the clinical practice. You could also provide point of care testing, ear irrigations, IV therapy, sutures, and treat lacerations. Many of our LPNs tell us they enjoy this position in our Walk-In Clinics because of the variety of skills they use which provides them with the opportunity to stay sharp and up-to-date.

This PRN position will float between the area locations for which you are hired. One area includes Bellevue, Belle Meade, and Brentwood. For the walk-in clinic PRN role, you will work at least one 12-hour shift per week; flexibility to work additional hours as needed is required, including weekend hours (walk-in clinics are open 8-5 on Saturday/Sunday).
