In this role, the successful candidate Job Title: Senior Digital Writer/Editor
MAIN FUNCTIONS: Write, edit, and manage content through the expert review process for NYU Langone Medical Center's websites, nyulangone.org and med.nyu.edu. Collaborate and strategize with digital editorial, marketing, creative services, media, and departmental staff throughout NYU Langone to create, refresh, and evolve digital content and the medical center's online presence. Work with key stakeholders of the institution to develop clear and effective content for a variety of audiences and channels, including patients and research/academic audiences. Work closely with the web production staff to ensure quality and optimization of digital content.
Detail: Serve as a writer and editor for NYU Langones websites and their many audiences, including patients, physicians, researchers, students, donors, staff, etc.
Evaluate existing content for quality, accuracy, and SEO.
Work with key stakeholders in marketing/communications and across NYU Langone to prioritize, update, generate new content, and shepherd content updates through a multi-step editorial process
Recommend new content to be created, as well as appropriate placement of content on websites
Write content that is audience-specific for key beats (departments or key strategic areas), including patient-focused content, academic research/education content, and physician and faculty profiles.
Contribute content to social media channels.
: Responsibility Title: Content Update Review and Approval Detail: Under direction of Assistant and Associate Directors, review content update requests from stakeholders from around the medical center and work with stakeholders to ensure updates meet digital editorial standards, as well as marketing / communications needs.
Work closely with the web production staff to ensure that content is accurate and meets guidelines when produced.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Requirements: Digital writing/editing required, information architecture creation experience preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Sciences required, Master's Degree in Communications or Science Writing preferred. At least 3-5 years experience at a hospital, academic medical center, healthcare organization, scientific research organization, or digital agency required.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
