Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Operations and Outreach, and in collaboration with the clinical Chiefs, the QI Coordinator works closely and collaboratively with faculty, faculty leadership and NYP clinical stakeholders to improve the patient experience and faculty experience throughout all Department sites.
1.Operations: In collaboration with the Director and NYP, coordinates and plans for the implementation of performance standards and operational changes to drive efficiency and quality. Collects data and compiles statistical reports for administrative and regulatory purposes. Monitors monthly volume and analyzes trends to recommend operational revisions.
2.Patient Experience: Is a patient advocate; models customer service standards and patient satisfaction and provides guidance to staff; provides timely response to and documents patient complaints; performs root cause analysis and presents recommendations for change to senior leadership. Faculty Experience: Provides data management functions, including data entry, data organization, and statistical analysis. Manages timelines and tracks progress on all relevant projects; provides timely advisement to stakeholders of critical deadlines.
3.Policies, procedure and systems: Acts as a liaison to NYP, FPO and P&S. Represents Department of Emergency Medicine at meetings, serves on committees and supports new initiatives. Interprets, implements, and enforces policies and procedures. Recommends changes to address issues and improve systems and controls. Is a super user of the electronic medical record and act as a department resource; troubleshoots and resolves system issues for faculty and staff.
4.Compliance: Remains abreast of regulatory agency standards to ensure QI compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.
5.Cross covers for other administrative staff and performs other duties as needed.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Experience in a hospital or academic medical center.
Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; have ability to exercise excellent judgment, tact, confidentiality and diplomacy in all interactions.
Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to accurately handle diverse projects and a large volume of detailed work simultaneously, and use good judgment in prioritizing work.
Must demonstrate proven ability to interact with all levels of faculty and staff.
Strong working knowledge of clinical management program, QI initiatives, EMR, database management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite required.
Candidate is required to become a super user of EMR and registration software within 6 months of start date.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree preferred. Clinical license a plus. Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
