Job Description Summary The Clinical Practice Manager is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and training of the Medical Assistants of the RFUHC. Along with the Medical Director and the Director of Operations, develop policies and procedures for clinical operations; manage clinical inventory and supplies, and coordination of patient care activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Plan & schedule MA resources to meet needs of the clinics work load. • Manage inventory of consumable medical supplies. • Manage inventory of clinic vaccines and medications. • Perform patient nursing functions as needed within scope of RN License. • Develop In-Service programs to train and then periodically verify proficiency of MA staff. • With Office Manager and Medical Director develop and maintain clinic policies and procedures related to clinical operations and quality assurance. • Develop processes to cross train all MA’s across all RFUHC locations and specialties. • Assist with the Community Care Coach as needed.
Required Education & Experience • Licensed RN in State of Illinois • Minimum Associate Nursing Degree from an accredited institution. • Five years professional supervisory nursing experience in hospital or clinic setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to render and evaluate patient care. • Knowledge of common and potential safety hazards and precautions to establish and maintain a safe work environment. • Demonstrated skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care. • Demonstrated skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions (i.e. critical thinking). • Demonstrated skill in preparing/maintaining records, writing reports and responding to electronic communications. • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in an Electronic medical Record System. • Demonstrated skill to multi-task and adapt to changes in patient volumes and acuity. • Ability to develop and maintain quality control standards. • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately. • Knowledge of sterile techniques, standard operating room procedures and equipment.
