The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) performs patient psychosocial assessments, develops clinical treatment plans, and provides direct clinical treatment services for patients. Such services include, but are not limited to, individual modalities and crisis intervention. Additionally, the LCSW will participate in the training of medical staff, students and new employees. The LCSW performs duties under the supervision of a Physician and/or Psychologist.REQUIRED- Must have a valid California LCSW license.- Knowledge and understanding of individual, child, and family development, human behavior and communications, the influence of culture and values in social work practice, psychotherapy, case management, and the relation between social work practice and medicine.- Knowledge of child, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements and other significant legislation and laws regulating social work practice, e.g., Tarasoff, patient confidentiality, etc. - Knowledge of community resources.- Knowledge of and ability to effectively use the DSM-V.- Knowledge of suicidal behavior, the ability to assess lethality, and the ability to develop appropriate treatment plans.- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal, written and listening) skills. PREFERRED- Experience with, or knowledge of, the particular challenges facing patients with chronic or acute pain. - Experience with motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy in a busy medical setting.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT.- Must be able to occasionally flex time to handle emergencies and adhere to departmental attendance standards.
