Located in the north Denver suburb of Westminster, St. Anthony North (SAN) is a full-service, acute-care community hospital. Since 1971, this Level III trauma-designated hospital has provided 24-hour emergency care and operates one of busiest EDs in the Denver Metro Area. St. Anthony North is comprised of a 350,000 square foot health campus and a neighborhood health center at the legacy campus. St. Anthony North Health Campus includes 60,000 square feet of integrated primary and specialty physician clinics, community health and wellness services, a women’s center with labor/delivery suites, 100-inpatient beds and an outpatient diagnostic center with lab and imaging services. The St. Anthony North 84th Neighborhood Health Center is comprised of a free-standing emergency department, Family Medicine Clinic and Crisis Behavioral Health Services. The RN Unit Educator is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in a specific area of clinical nursing and is responsible for developing, implementing, & evaluating a program of education for an assigned population. Programming includes initial and ongoing staff competency (including a standardized department-based orientation), as well as continued education as identified by needs assessments and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to their populations. The scope of the education will be determined through collaborative practice with department management, educators, and advanced practice nurses to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care; assumes the role of an educator, facilitator, consultant, researcher and change agent.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN), Education, or other related graduate field of study preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Four years of recent nursing experience
Four years of experience in a clinical specialty preferred
Two years of staff development, academic teaching and /or project development coordination preferred
Requires advanced knowledge in nursing, evidence-based practice methods, and person-centered care concepts
Current Colorado RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required Additional certifications may be required (refer to facility addendum(s)
Professional certification preferred Demonstrates progress in obtaining staff development certification within one year of meeting eligibility requirements
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
