Hospital: ST MARY CORWIN HOSPITAL
POSITION SUMMARY: Associate is a physician extender hired to help with the large volume of patients who need to be seen for urgent or semi-urgent reasons.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1: Maintain an active license to practice medicine in the state of Colorado.
2:Maintain a D.E.A. license
3: Maintain Certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS.
4: Develop a patient panel appropriate for a physician extender in family medicine.
5: Run an acute clinic to provide follow-up for patients that are seen in St. Mary Corwin Hospital Emergency room that have no primary care physician.
6: Available to see patients on a semi-emergent basis when their primary care physician is not available in clinic.
7. Provide supervision to Nurse Practice students who are rotating through the clinic.
8.Attend faculty and Graduate Educational meetings to discuss educational objectives of the Advanced Nurse Practice students rotating at St. Mary Corwin Hospital.
9: Follow the rules set forth by the state of Colorado concerning the supervision of Nurse Practioner.
10: Develop and maintain competency by obtaining 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years.
11: Other duties as assigned from time to time by the Director of the clinic.
Clinic hours: Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
