The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a VeterinaryTechnician for its Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care/ICU unit.The primary purpose of this position is toprovide nursing care to hospitalized critically ill/injured, post-operative,and infectious small animal patients by making patient assessments, performingtriage, and preparing patients for exams or treatments. Incumbent will triagepatients upon arrival and prioritize those in most critical need. Individualwill continuously evaluate patient status and collaborates with clinicians andother team members to communicate changes in patient status to ensureappropriate treatment is provided. Incumbent will communicate with clientsregarding patient's condition and provide counsel on the need for care.Position is also responsible for teaching clinical application of technicalprocedures, drug administration, and critical thinking skills to veterinarystudents, interns, and residents.
