The Relationship Manager builds and maintains SIDM’s relationships with partner organizations, particularly Coalition members. In addition, this position will develop and manage two new SIDM resources – a storybank and speaker’s bureau.
Coalition Support (35%)
Develop and administer an annual strategic engagement plan for Coalition members—in concert with other staff—including attracting needed partners from new and existing sectors
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key staff from Coalition member organizations
Set clear expectations for Coalition members and provide regular updates/communications to keep partners invested
Obtain feedback on Coalition issues and insights into the perspectives/needs of individual partners
Maintain a list and track all “actions” that Coalition members commit to undertake and track quantitative and anecdotal progress
Maintain coalition organization information in SIDM CRM
At the direction of the VP of Communications and Marketing, staff Coalition meetings: develop agendas, coordinate schedules, collect presentations and take minutes of meetings
Set annual metrics for success for relationships—in concert with other staff—as well as periodic assessments of Coalition members’ satisfaction.
Storybank Development & Maintenance (30%)
Develop storybank database, standards, and process that allows for search by geographic regions, type of issue, etc.
Continually collaborate and work cross-departmentally with the Director of Patient Engagement and other staff
In collaboration with Director of Patient Engagement coordinate and manage “calls for stories” with strategic patient organizations
Track media, policy and web for potential stories of delayed, missed or wrong diagnosis
Use established parameters, contact potential patients and families for inclusion in storybank
Respond to staff to find appropriate stories for media inquiries, press events, and public policy events
Serve as point of contact/liaison between storybank members and SIDM staff.
Update CRM with patient and patient organization information
Speaker’s Bureau Development & Maintenance (25%)
Establish and promote a SIDM speaker’s bureau focused on leveraging our leadership and committee members to spread the word about diagnostic errors
Maintain and recruit speakers for the speaker’s bureau
Communicate with speakers to schedule and confirm speaking events
Communicate with field rep to select and confirm venue for each speaking event
Communicate with event (grand rounds, conferences and other presentations) representatives to schedule, confirm, and manage all aspects of individual speaking events; Evaluate and arrange for audio-visual equipment with vendors based on program requirements
Develop evaluation tool(s) for speaker’s bureau and conduct evaluations.
Maintain accurate records for all programs, including logistical details.
General Communications Support (5%)
Play an active role as a member of the Communications and Marketing team.
Write and proof marketing and communications content as needed.
Other (approximately <5% of the position)
Actively participate in required conferences, educational programs and staff meetings
Able to work professionally with SIDM consultants and vendors
Protect SIDM’s value by keeping information confidential
Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining networks; participating in professional organizations
Perform other duties as assigned by VP Communications and Marketing.
Virtual office at this time, may change to flexible in- and virtual office days in the future. Occasional work on evenings and weekends as needed. Occasional out of town travel is required

Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, journalism or related field is required.
Job experience requirements
Five years’ work experience in this field
Previous work experience building rapport with SIDM’s various constituencies: physicians, nurses, patients, and their families, coalitions of health care providers.
Previous experience working with CRM databases
Plain language writing and copy-editing experience
Experience using social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube and other emerging channels
Experience using email marketing tools including Constant Contact, Facebook
Strong interpersonal skills
Keen analytical and research abilities
Excellent communication skills
Aptitude for fostering positive relationships

We offer a compensation package that includes health and dental insurance coverage. We have generous leave and a flexible work schedule.
Salary range for this position is $52,000-57,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
