Assistant / Associate / Full Professor, Ohio Musculoskeletal & Neurological Institute

The Department of Biomedical Sciences in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, in partnership with the Ohio Musculoskeletal & Neurological Institute (OMNI), at Ohio University is seeking applications for a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (i.e., open rank). OMNI is undergoing a targeted expansion to complement and expand the research activities of our scientists by hiring several additional faculty members on the Athens, Ohio campus (Ohio University's Main Campus).
OMNI's overarching mission is to improve the treatment, prevention and diagnosis of musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, and we seek applications from outstanding scientists working within this scope. OMNI scientists have expertise in orthopedics, bone biology, neuroscience, skeletal muscle biology, exercise physiology, biomedical engineering, biomechanics, and health psychology.
The current programmatic research areas of emphasis are: 1) pain disorders and 2) healthy aging. The institute anticipates the emergence of additional focus areas based on faculty interests/expertise (e.g., translational bone research, data analytics, etc.). OMNI currently features seven NIH-funded principal investigators and welcomes additional members that will establish and maintain an extramurally-funded research program that produces innovative, high impact scholarly activity. The successful candidate will enjoy protected time for research, with rich opportunities for participation in medical and graduate education programs. Physician scientists are also encouraged to apply.
A Ph.D. in a STEM-related field is required.
Demonstration of success in obtaining multi-year, extramural funding is required for individuals applying at the rank of associate or full professor.
