Henderson Hospital Henderson Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in the suburb of Henderson, the 120-bed hospital, which opened in 2016, offers emergency care, surgical services, including an ambulatory surgery center, cardiovascular care, women's health and maternity services. A level II neonatal intensive care unit is slated to open by late 2017. Job Description Responsible for patient care/service and assigned duties under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Essential Job Duties: Position Specific Requirements Performs responsibilities consistent with hospital safety policies. Knows and applies infection control policies and processes when handling and disposing of blood and body fluids. Transports patients to ancillary departments or inpatient units in a timely fashion. Transports specimens and requisitions to ancillary departments in a timely fashion. Orders and stocks all patient care areas ensuring adequate supplies for patient care. Assists with clerical functions as assigned. Cleans ER bays and rooms between patients in a timely fashion. Assists with vital signs and direct patient care. Works alongside the triage nurse to assist the RN in prompt patient assessment. Works in a fast track area as required. Applies fiberglass and plaster casts and splints. Applies orthopedic splints and appliances. Maintains continuous E.K.G. monitoring of patients. Demonstrates ability to report the document observations accurately and completely. Informs appropriate nursing personnel of abnormalities or changes. Complete rhythm records and logs within the telemetry department and nursing floors. Follows all infection control procedures including cleanliness of equipment. Initiates telemetry hook-ups. Troubleshoots the sending units. Blood draws in accordance with laboratory guidelines. Establishes IVs as directed by RN in accordance with policies and guidelines. Department Specific Requirements Follows and complies with government departmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
