Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Ambulatory Training Specialist. The position will require flexibility to work during Mon-Fri, between the hours of 8am to 6pm as needed. The incumbent will be expected to travel approximately 25% of the time to ambulatory locations.
The Associate Ambulatory Training Specialist is an integral part of the FGP Orientation & Training team reporting in to the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Orientation & Training. This individual supports all training initiatives across the Faculty Group Practice (FGP) and is responsible for assisting on-site and classroom training. As a representative of the FGP, the Ambulatory Training Specialist reinforces best practices with a focus on driving and fostering patient-centered care and service excellence. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, this individual will assist in identifying areas of opportunity and help to pilot new processes, systems, and activities that will ultimately improve ambulatory operations and key performing indicators such as patient experience. The trainer will also proactively suggest content for training materials and offer assistance with course development and other educational materials in close collaboration with the Asst. Director.
Under the guidance of the Asst. Director, conducts classroom training of learners ranging in size from one to more than 50 participants per session.
Collaborates with FGP leadership and with MCIT training teams to ensure training is consistent among learners.
Asst with the effectiveness assessment of the curriculum to identify and contribute to quality improvements by using return of investment evaluations.
Consults with FGP leadership to ensure the validity and relevance of course curriculum. With direction from the Asst. Director, creates training guides and utilizes classroom training environments; ensures all content is appropriate for learners.
With direction from the Asst. Director, creates training guides and utilizes classroom training environments; endures all content is appropriate for learners. Updates curriculum, PowerPoint training guides, end-user proficiency testing requirements, and supplemental training materials and incorporates into classroom training.
Recommends modifications to curriculum based on learner feedback. Administers and grades end user proficiency examinations and utilizes learning management system. May suggest improvement to training/system modification.
Helps identify any gaps or deficiencies in the process developed to have content reviews make suggested modifications. Escalates gaps in content or other concerns with leadership.
Provides quality customer service and serves as an exemplary representative of team. Disseminates Quick Start Guides, Tips sheets, eLearnings, and other training tools to supplement training curriculum.
Assists with monitoring of key performance indicators such as CG CAHPS performance to track and improve metrics. Analyzes patient metrics such as no show rates, daily volumes, MyChart utilization, patient secure compliance, etc. to track improvement and target areas for training opportunities. Supports the Patient Experience team while participating in focused work groups to create, develop, and implement best practices.
Incorporate the NYULMC Service Excellence Standard Behaviors into daily workflows and communications.
Participate in regular standing meeting with FGP office, to assist in sharing learned best practices across all FGP Locations.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 1 year of work experience participating in improvement programs, problem solving, time management and prioritization skills, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills Self-motivated and detail oriented with an excellent work ethic. Completes work assignments in accordance with established project timelines. Functions both as an individual contributor and team player within organization.
Preferred Qualifications: Epic experience, working in a Healthcare and educational environment are preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
