Working with the Program Director and Associate Program Directors, the Education Manager directs administrative strategies and develops and implements systems to enhance the operations of education programs for all residents, medical students, and fellows in Emergency Medicine. This position provides direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of educational activities. The Education Manager also functions as a project manager for professional medical education events for Emergency Medicine. This position is responsible for the oversight of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Emergency Medicine Residency Program, two accredited fellowship programs, three to four unaccredited Fellowship programs and Medical Student Education Clerkships/electives. Responsibilities include:
Management of the Emergency Medicine's Education and Training Office and support staff
Supervise all aspects of the Resident and ACGME fellowship recruitment process including advertising, answering applicant questions, web page maintenance, database management, scheduling and monitoring status of applications.
Develop orientation information with Program Director of Education and assistant program directors to ensure that residents are prepared for each new rotation by provision of orientation materials and checklists.
Actively engage in working with the Education Committee to enhance the learning environment and to ensure that education goals are achieved.
Manage electronic evaluation process for evaluations
Assist in the preparation of resident performance reviews and Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) meetings through maintenance of residency of online record in MedHub and files
Serve as department liaison to Graduate Medical Education, American Board of Emergency Medicine, ACGME, School of Medicine and other reporting and accreditation bodies as requested regarding medical students, residents and fellows
