Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physician Assistant. As part of NYU Langone Health Department of Orthopedics partnership with Bellevue Hospital Center, the Physician Assistant is responsible for seeing patients exclusively in the Orthopedic Clinics at Bellevue Hospital Center: the Implant Clinic, Fracture Clinic, Sports Medicine Clinic, Pediatrics Clinic, Bone Tumor Clinic and Neuromuscular Clinic.
In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:Responsible for provision, coordination, and assurance of comprehensive medical care using sound medical knowledge and pertinent standards of care, performance of therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures on the designated inpatient or outpatient population, assume delegatoryresponsibilities assigned by supervising physician privileged as Medical Staff of NYU Langone Health.
Take patients' history, perform physical examinations of patients, render an opinion supervised by the clinic attending physician and order appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays and treatment.
Help to decrease time overruns and delays of new clinic appointments and follow-up appointments.
Assist with giving a continuity of care to patients at Bellevue.
Assist with emergency referrals from the ER as well as walk-in patients needing care.
Handle the ever-increasing volume of patients, especially when residents are called away to the ER or to surgery.
Help keep a consistently high level of care in the Bellevue Hospital Center Orthopedic Clinics.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have the following: Minimum Qualifications: Licensure: Current New York State Physician Assistant License Education: Physician Assistant Bachelors Degree (BA-PA)Certifications: NCCPA Board Certification ACLS, PALS, NRP Provider (Neonatal Resuscitation Program),NALS per delineation of privileges.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred.
