The Department of Radiology at the University of Vermont Medical Center in affiliation with The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont is seeking a Division Chief of Neuroradiology.
Ours is an academic practice of 40 full and part-time radiologists who serve as the clinical faculty for a 24 member ACGME-approved Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the University of Vermont.
The University of Vermont Medical Center is the only tertiary referral center for the catchment area of Vermont and Northern upstate New York. The department and section are part of the larger University of Vermont Health Network in Northern Vermont and New York; comprising 6 smaller hospitals in addition to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
The Division of Neuroradiology is currently composed of 4 FTE diagnostic neuroradiologists and 2.0 FTE neurointerventional radiologists who share in the diagnostic neuroimaging call pool. Neurointervention is not a requirement for this position. There is an ACGME-approved neuroradiology fellowship. Facilities are state-of-the-art with a 3.0 Tesla magnet and three 1.5 Tesla magnets. CT facilities include 256-slice scanner located in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include daily medical student, resident and fellow teaching, transdisciplinary conferences with neurosurgery, neurology, pathology and neuro-oncology, and 1:5 weeks of call, with in house coverage after hours provided by residents. Opportunities for protected time for scholarly activity are offered. A 3.0 Tesla dedicated research scanner operated by the University of Vermont MRI Center for Biomedical Imaging is housed in the Radiology Department and staffed full time by experienced research technologists as well as two MR physicists.
This is a Clinical Scholar Pathway full-time position at the Associate or Full Professor level. Applicants must have completed an ACGME accredited neuroradiology fellowship and must be ABR certified or eligible and CAQ certified or eligible. The position is 1.0 FTE neuroradiology with protected administrative time for division management. As Division Chief, responsibilities include mentorship of junior faculty, fostering of scholarly activity within the division, oversight of weekly and yearly scheduling, maintenance of neuroimaging protocols, and building transdisciplinary relationships within the institution. In addition, UVMMC is at the center of a growing healthcare network in Northern New England and as the leader of Neuroradiology, the successful applicant will actively participate in the integration and standardization of neuroimaging patient care and quality across the region.
The compensation package is competitive and faculty rank is commensurate with experience.
