We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor - Payroll.
This position will be responsible for the Supervision of the Payroll Operations Unit (POU) within Payroll Services. Supervision of the POU includes oversight of the Payroll associates involved with Processing. The primary responsibility of this position is to monitor staff performance and ensure timely processing of all pay runs and adjustments to pay on a per pay run cycle. This will include the weekly payroll, the bi-weekly payroll, the monthly payroll and any off cycle pay. This position will also be responsible for overseeing the Customer Service area of Payroll as well ensuring all FrontRange tickets are review and answered timely. This position will be responsible for categorizing issues correctly and determine any new problems that are arising and bring this to the Manager's attention. This position will be responsible for statistical reporting of all activity running through this section of payroll on a daily, monthly and yearly basis. This position should have a complete understanding of payroll operations and as well as Nursing Payroll. The incumbent will have the ability to create training materials and implement new policy and procedures for medical center regarding Payroll. This position should also be able to support the Payroll Tax/Special Team Supervisor.
Provides leadership and direction within Payroll Operations Unit & Payroll as a whole.
Responsible for All Payroll Processing including daily, bi-weekly, monthly and executive payroll. Responsible for file uploads and vacation payouts.
Promote staff development, mentoring and coaching to Payroll Operations Unit through routine staff evaluation.
Assist the Manager of Payroll in monitoring, updating and enforcing Payroll policies and procedures.
Coordinates with the Manager of Payroll to provide in-house education on Payroll policies and procedures. Audience for in-house education includes Finance Call Center, POU staff, and NYU Langone Health department personnel.
Participates in evaluation and redesign, as necessary, of internal processes.
Efficiently organizes and manages tasks/projects. Assigns to appropriate personnel as needed.
Demonstrates creative thinking when seeking alternative solutions to process challenges and issues.
Supervise and Monitor Payroll Operations Unit performance by review of weekly & monthly benchmark reporting (i.e.. Customer Service calls and activity).
Liaison with the Finance Call Center in resolving payroll inquiries and continue with training of the Call Center Staff on Payroll policy and procedure.
Continual focus and follow-up on types of Customer Service calls and develop plans to alleviate the calls and issues.
Acts as a point of contact with external departments within the institution.
Identifies and coordinates resources to meet customer needs.
Ensure monthly team metrics are prepared for Sr. Management so progress can be measured as well as areas that need attention.
Identifies areas of improvement for Payroll Services and the NYU Langone Health operational departments.

Must have an Associate's degree.
A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of related experience is also required.
Previous supervisory experience is must.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, a related field or the equivalent work experience.
