The Associate Director of Donor Relations works closely with the Director of Donor Relations to design, implement and manage strategic programs and processes that support and strengthen donor relationships with the Biological Sciences Division and UChicago Medicine. These programs will efficiently and effectively communicate the impact made by donors at all levels of giving, with special emphasis placed on Major and Principal gift donors.
Works directly with MBSD fundraisers and ARD staff, as well as UCMC faculty and staff to produce endowment, scholarship, loan fund, and other impact reports. Leads the gift acknowledgement process for UCMC Trustees, a multi-faceted program involving the entire MBSD staff, and partners within ARD and Gift Processing.
Performs reporting responsibilities, and routinely records, analyzes, and maintains information related to University-wide stewardship programs and activities, including tracking information on donors who have established endowments, and faculty and students who benefit from endowed funds in the professional schools.
Serves as a project manager at an advanced level for a variety of ongoing as well as newly conceived donor communication activities, like writing donor stories for publications and websites, and contributing to the development of videos.
Works in partnership with colleagues within the MBSD Communications team, UCM Marketing and Communications, and University web services to produce and/or contribute to multi-media communications for various development audiences.
Drafts and manages all acknowledgements for Trustees and assists in content and template development for other acknowledgements.

A Bachelor's Degree or higher is required
A Liberal Arts, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or Business degree is preferred.
A minimum of three years professional experience in development or a related field is required
Experience working in a large hierarchical organization is preferred
An interest and knowledge base in health care economics, medical research, and health care policy is preferred
