GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Project Custodian complete projects and work orders as given by the manager, supervisor; or lead. Fill in for team members. Follow project schedule and complete project work orders. Report project work that needs to be completed and complete project sheets. The schedule for this position will vary depending on the need of the University. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Complete projects and work orders received from manager, supervisor, or lead.
- Complete project report once work order is finished.
- Report project work that needs to be scheduled.
- Assist in the coverage of open areas due to vacations, sick calls and open positions.
- Operates various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, burnishers, vacuums, sweepers, pressure wash equipment, and carpet extractors.
- Provides daily preventive equipment maintenance on all equipment used.
- Floor maintenance including; dust mopping, cleaning, burnishing, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, and/or recoating floors.
- Perform machine scrubbing on floors according to floor maintenance schedules.
- Carpeting maintenance including; spot cleaning and carpet extraction.
- Other maintenance duties including; wall washing, kivacing restrooms and locker rooms, and performing indoor and outdoor window washing.
- Tag equipment for major repairs and advise manager or supervisor.
- Perform weekly supply delivery to assigned areas and disburse the delivery to supply cage.
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: - Summer and school break apartment turn cleaning to include; window washing, carpet extraction, kivacing restrooms, and waxing floors.
- Biohazard cleanup.
- Assist with event cleanup.
- Snow shoveling for assigned entry way areas.
- Clean outside entry ways, up to 15 feet from the door, and keep free of debris, cigarette butts etc.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or GED and 1 year experience.
- Custodial Technician Training Program.
- Minimum one year of full-time related work experience as an educational, commercial, industrial or medical custodial floor care worker with specific floor care experience.
- Experience on operating various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, burnishers, vacuums, floor sweepers, Kivacs, and carpet extractors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : - Ability to handle last minute requests and emergency cleaning situations.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions.
- Ability to be attentive to details to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Ability to lead/teach.
- Ability to work in a team environment and work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to reason/analyze; maintain confidentiality and demonstrate patience, understanding.
- Ability to show initiative; multi-task and organize workflow; manage one or more multiple projects.
