Assistant, Associate & Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X) Pediatric Emergency Medicine
THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO (UCSD), DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS (pediatrics.ucsd.edu), AND RADY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF SAN DIEGO (rchsd.org) are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking academic physicians at the assistant, associate or full rank to join our Division of Emergency Medicine.
RCHSD, a 377-bed level 1 Trauma Center, is the major regional primary and tertiary pediatric hospital and is the clinical home of UCSD Department of Pediatrics. The main campus ED has a census of over 100,000 visits per year and over 15,000 per year at our satellite site. The division also has 5 community pediatric urgent care centers with a combined census of about 50,000 visits per year. Selected candidates will join our staff of 35 PEM BC/BE attending physicians, 10 BC/BE pediatricians and 7 AHPs to provide coverage at both our main campus and satellite ED providing the majority of the pediatric emergency care for San Diego county.
Additionally, the Division has a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching and research. It runs an ACGME-accredited fellowship and has 5-6 fellows (total) in training each year. We are the pediatric emergency medicine training site for nearly 200 residents and over 50 medical students.
Candidates must have an MD and must be board certified or board eligible in pediatric emergency medicine. Candidates must be licensable in the State of California.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
