The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is recruiting for an antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, and telehealth position with appointment as a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor without tenure due to funding on the clinician/teacher pathway. This is a 12-month, multi-year appointment. This individual will serve as Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Harborview Medical Center (HMC) providing programmatic leadership and coordination. In addition the position will participate in UW Medicine Infectious Disease and Antimicrobial Stewardship Telehealth activities. We seek to recruit an emerging or established leader in the field of antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control with interest in expanding these activities as well as infectious diseases consultation through telehealth.
The qualified candidate will hold an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board eligible in infectious diseases (or foreign equivalent). The successful applicant will have training or experience in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention activities. The candidate must have excellent demonstrated verbal and written skills. The individual would be expected to attend on the HMC inpatient infectious diseases consult service and/or general medicine service as well as the HMC General Infectious Diseases Clinic where he/she would supervise and teach infectious diseases fellows, residents, and medical students. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
