The University of California Irvine, Medical Center, Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking applicants for an Informatics Fellow for the start date of July 1, 2018. Clinical fellows will hold a Health Sciences Clinical Instructor title. The mission of the 2-year Clinical Informatics Fellowship is to train board-certified/board-eligible physicians in the principles of clinical informatics and how to practically implement these practices in an integrated healthcare system. Fellowship goals include: expertise in procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation and continuous improvement of clinical information systems. The fellowship focuses on the practical application of clinical informatics and specified training will be devoted to leadership development and belt-attainment in Lean-Six-Sigma methodology. Fellows will practice at the UCI Medical Center, a Level I Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac and Burn receiving center with an annual census of more than 5,000 trauma activations, 50,000 Emergency Department visits, and a three-year residency program that has been in place since 1989.
