Essential Functions: This position facilitates research activities within the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine. The department is actively involved in research focused on resuscitation, pre-hospital and in-hospital therapies and devices. Responsibilities include managing projects within established grant operating budgets, coordinating subject recruitment and data collection at multiple sites, providing advice on protocol content and implementation systems, compiling and analyzing data, and directing participating staff and clinical sites. The position also develops and maintains relationships with regulatory entities, including IRBs and the FDA. This individual may author/co-authors manuscripts submitted to peer-reviewed journals and other publications and may present research findings at scientific meetings. This position will require on call, weekend and off shift assignments. Coordinates study projects and develops strategies for maximizing subject participation. Collects documents and maintains data to assist investigators in implementing research protocols and remaining on targeted timelines. Coordinates and completes case report forms. Oversees and conducts ongoing, continuous training for study participants and quality assurance initiatives of ongoing research projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, medical or science related field. Valid driver's license and ability to attend off-site meetings.
